I suspect your volumes/flows are so low to make justification of a more complex strategy not cost competitive. For desalination only, you are really limited to mechanical evaporation. I suspect though that there are other chemical contaminants, and therefore the use of something like RO without pre-treatment ...

This is not a simple question. If pressure is maintained consistently throughout, then intrusion is minimized. However in the presence of pressure transients, intrusion becomes more likely.
