  • 1.  How to desalinate wastewater?

    I'm looking for information on how to desalinate wastewater / how to select and cost compare equipment to desalinate.

    There is a wash down site for snow plows / snow removal trucks that is having issues with high salinity in their wastewater, too high to be discharged directly into the sewer.  There is an onsite evaporation storage pond already, but they are looking for alternatives.

    I don't have much experience with this so I'm not sure where to start.  I'm looking for advice on similar past projects people have worked on / how to find and select equipment / etc etc.  Thanks in advance.

    I suspect your volumes/flows are so low to make justification of a more complex strategy not cost competitive.  For desalination only, you are really limited to mechanical evaporation.  I suspect though that there are other chemical contaminants, and therefore the use of something like RO without pre-treatment is not going to work very well.
