    A portal frame with hinged ends at columns 

    Is it stable or a good structure? 

    Do you draw the same next time I may attach drawing

    Drawings of portal frame and 2 gate frames hinged ends shown in figure attached portal frame is not stable or not good, the gate frames one is somewhat stable if it's fixed or redundant then good. Study the other gate frame give an additional member then it would be stable

    Gates given both are same which is mistake please see the correction fig attached
