  • 1.  Plastic Tank Anchorage

    Posted 20 days ago

From ASCE 7-22 Section 15.7.5, it seems clear to me that steel tanks and vessels need to be designed so that their steel anchors fail first and therefore an overstrength factor does not need to be used for anchor checks. I have a plastic tank (fiber-reinforced), does that need to be designed the same way as steel tanks where the steel fails first? Or do I need to use an omega factor to calculate the anchorage? Any help would be much appreciated.
