    I want to know about the loading calculations for high buildings from bottom to top in foundation reinforcement: bearing capacity, column reinforcement, slab reinforcement, from seismic load, atmospheric load. Where can I find resources on these topics?

    Looking at your Telephone Contact, I believe you are stationed in India.

    For any Structural Design, including its analysis and design of structural components, you will need to follow ALL the Indian Standard Codes, as related to Loads, Load-Combinations, Wind-Loads, Seismic Loads, etc. For ALL these inputs, best option could be to use software like E-Tab, and alike, but I find the E-Tabs as most suited, since it offers design and analysis as per Indian Standard Codes, too.

    For foundation, you will need a Geo-technical investigating Agency, to provide you information about the Type of Foundations, the Load-bearing Capacities etc. etc.

    This would also depend upon, the Scope/Height of Buildings, as also which Earthquake Zone, as per Indian Standards Codes, that the site of proposed development is situated

    ASCE 7 minimum loading...

    AISC MANUAL (for steel structures),

    AISC website provides also free webinars some
    posted few weeks back on earthquake design

    ACI BUILDING CODE (for reinforced concrete structures)

    FEMA REPORTS ON seismic design provide valuable information.

    My advise is to involve an experienced engineering office for high rise buildings if one has no experience in such a field.

    Some hints:
    To pay attention on detailing rather than excessive steel reinforcement for R.C.
    To pay attention such that structural system is well proportioned.
    Usually Steel connections are made stronger such that ultimit failure, plastic hinge is in beams.

    If you work in an engineering office and you are working on a tall building project, the first step would be to ask others in the office who have done it before which resources they have used. Tall buildings have a number of unique design considerations, and your office should have a set of design standards specific for their design.

    There is a council on tall buildings. It is not strictly structural engineering, but it may be helpful as a free educational resource, and to see latest trends in this area. The website is here: http://ctbuh.org/
