Dear Davy, thanks for bringing this matter to our attention. Nowadays, Fire design in construction considers passive or active methods. Nevertheless, those are methods based on "recipes" that are one-fit-all. Fire design should be considered in the architectural design, assuring the proper materials, spaces, barriers, etc. ASCE has several interesting materials related to this subject (i.e., https://ascelibrary.org/doi/book/10.1061/9780784409633). For ASCE members, there are a lot of free access documents.
We will have a seminar in Colombia related to fire design (Friday, June 14th, in-person event), trying to respond to this concern.
