Good evening,
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Miami who is writing a paper on discourse communities, and I decided to write about and investigate the AEI forums and how they may tie into future research publications. As part of my data, I must conduct an interview with a member of a "thread" of the AEI Builder technical forums that witnessed the thread evolve into an AEI publication.
Would anyone be available to provide feedback or be available to do a phone interview regarding the questions below?
-
What is your role in the ASCE and how does it extend to the AEI Builders technical forum?
-
Can you explain to me the structure of the forum and the communities?
-
What is the process of developing a thread, and historically, how frequently do people comment on them?
-
What are the different threads that you have been involved in?
-
How did those topics originate?
-
What type of information / speech was used in the thread to advance the topics?
-
Who was in the thread with you?
-
What is some insightful information that resulted from the threads and how did it end up as research questions?
-
What was the process that led to those questions becoming publications?
-
Overall, can you provide your professional commentary on how helpful the forum was leading to the publications of the different threads you were in?
