Engineering Manager, City of Chattanooga Wastewater Department

Matthew Snyder is an Engineering Manager with over 14 years of progressive experience in the design, operations, and asset management of complex municipal utility systemsHe currently leads engineering oversight and capital planning for the City of Chattanooga’s Wastewater and Transportation infrastructureMatt's deep-rooted expertise in local utility systems includes serving as the Biosolids Management System Coordinator at the Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant and gaining early collection system experience with the Knoxville Utilities Board.

Matt holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.A. in Urban Planning from the University of Tennessee, KnoxvilleHe is a certified Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) and holds a Grade 2 Wastewater Collection System Operator licenseCombining a technical background with a passion for local public works history, Matt brings a unique perspective to how Chattanooga’s subterranean networks have evolved to meet modern regulatory and environmental demands.
