January Luncheon - Salt Lake Temple Construction

The Central Utah Branch of American Society of Civil Engineers invites you to attend an upcoming luncheon featuring a presentation on the Salt Lake City Temple Reconstruction.

The Salt Lake City Temple is one of the most significant and technically complex historic reconstruction projects currently underway in the United States. An initial presentation on this project was delivered in 2023 as construction was beginning. This follow-up presentation will focus on the last three years of active construction, highlighting progress, challenges, and engineering solutions implemented during this critical phase of the work.

Attendees will gain insight into:

  • Structural and seismic upgrades to a historic masonry structure

  • Construction sequencing and logistics on a constrained, high-profile site

  • Lessons learned from ongoing reconstruction activities

  • Coordination among design, construction, and preservation teams

This presentation will be of particular interest to civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers, as well as anyone interested in large-scale rehabilitation and historic preservation projects.
