Ethical and Legal Considerations in the Use of AI by Engineers – If AI Designs It, Who Signs It? (2 PDH)

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to rapidly reshape the practice of engineering. When deployed thoughtfully, AI tools can be powerful aids, increasing options, efficiency, quality, and safety. However, AI use also raises important legal and ethical questions that engineers must consider. This webinar will explore key issues associated with using AI tools in engineering practice, including evaluating the reliability and accuracy of AI-generated outputs, maintaining professional competence and responsible charge, addressing intellectual property ownership, protecting confidential records, and navigating other ethical and legal obligations.
