Every spring, ASCE holds its Legislative Fly-In Program in Washington, DC, an intensive two-day program that provides participants with an inside look at the public policy process. In 2016 ASCE members visited nearly 240 Congressional offices, advocating for a new Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), water infrastructure funding, and the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization (FAA).
2017 FLY-IN
The 2017 Legislative Fly-In will be Tuesday and Wednesday, March 14-15, 2017 in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA.
The 2017 Legislative Fly-in program includes:
- - Meetings on The Hill with your Members of Congress or their staff
- - Briefing sessions on the new 2017 Infrastructure Report Card and key legislation active in Congress
- - Training on lobbying and influencing your elected leaders
- - Networking with your ASCE peers from across the country
- - A Younger Member Program
- - Tips on continuing relationships with your elected officials once you return home
Due to rising costs and to be good stewards of ASCE funds, there is a $29 early-bird registration fee and a $49 regular registration fee. The fee is not required to apply. It will be collected during the registration process after your application has been accepted. ASCE Government Relations offers a limited number of travel awards to help defray some travel costs. The remaining travel costs are the responsibility of the attendee.
The application deadline for the 2017 Legislative Fly-In has passed. We are only accepting new applications from ASCE members in Connecticut and Kansas. Applicants from Connecticut and Kansas should contact [email protected] to apply.
