Winter Lunch Meeting & Technical Presentation

Please register and join us for our winter lunch meeting on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. The meeting will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Royal Buffet Chinese Restaurant, located at 272 Garfield Ave, Cranston, RI 02920.

The program will feature a presentation on recent improvements and upgrades at the Bucklin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant in East Providence, Rhode Island. The speakers will be Dimitrios Palantzas, P.E.; Chris McMullin, and David Burnett from Keller North America.

The presentation, entitled “Geotechnical Construction at the Bucklin Point Wastewater Treatment Facility” will focus on Keller’s scope of work, which included a design and construction of temporary earth support system consisting of sheet piles with tiebacks and wales, micropiles for the support of the new clarifiers, dewatering well installation, and grouting at the toe of the sheets for groundwater cutoff. The presentation will highlight the overall project objectives, geotechnical conditions and challenges, construction techniques and the importance of collaboration amongst stakeholders.

The event will also include updates from the RI ASCE Board of Directors.
