Master Plan and the Capital Improvement Program

Dan Porter’s experience includes strategic, safety, security, operational, and planning services at
airports of varying size and function. With 25-years of direct airport operations and planning experience, Dan has managed projects relating to strategic planning and management, master and system planning, feasibility studies, noise compatibility, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and Runway Safety Area (RSA) analysis. He has completed project management assignments at airports that include JFK International Airport, Newark International Airport, Teterboro Airport, LaGuardia International Airport, Myrtle Beach International, Pueblo Memorial Airport CO, and New Jersey DOT.
Having worked as Manager of Operations at Richmond International Airport (RIC), VA and earning his MBA, Dan brings a “real world” balanced approach to planning with strong understanding of the airport operator’s needs and requirements. He oversaw the staff and budget for the RIC Operations Department which was directly responsible for the day‐to‐day operation of both airfield safety and terminal activity. Having worked in the private sector and now as Vice President of Planning for the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC), Dan leads all planning for the airport system in the State of Rhode Island, which includes Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, North Central, Quonset, Newport, Westerly, and Block Island state airports.
