About the Tour: 

St. John is the oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Baltimore founded in 1763. The present church is the oldest consecrated Catholic Church in the Frederick County. Currently, Stabilization Restoration of the Historic Clock Tower is underway.

Event: Climb inside the restored steeple of Saint John the Evangelist Church In downtown Frederick.

Maximum Number of Participants: 10 (First come, First Served Basis)

Address: 118 East 2nd Street.  Meet at the rear parking lot by 11:00am.

Parking:  On the street (metered) or the Church Street Garage (recommended).

Dress:  Old clothes, long pants, sturdy shoes.

Exertion level: 9 out of 10.  There will be about 175 steps, a section of ladder to climb, and an area that involves crawling. There are tight quarters and obviously, heights.

Lunch: For those attending, there will be lunch(at your own cost) at Brewer’s Alley following the climb.
