Title of the Presentation: What's happening around Vegas

Brian Yost is the Chief Operating Officer for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the destination marketing organization for Las Vegas and Southern Nevada that also owns and operates the Las Vegas Convention Center, one of the largest convention centers in the United States.

In his role, Mr. Yost is responsible for providing leadership and developing the strategy to create exceptional customer experiences and overseeing the operations at the 4.6 million square foot Las Vegas Convention Center. As part of his Las Vegas Convention Center oversight, he leads the current multimillion-dollar capital and renovation planning for the legacy Convention Center facilities. Mr. Yost also helps drive visitation to the destination by leading the team that solicits and secures signature citywide sports and special events such as the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl and NFL Draft, Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 and the NCAA Men’s basketball Final Four in 2028.

Prior to joining the LVCVA in 2018, Mr. Yost was the owner and founder of Meliora Consulting, LLC, a full-service consultancy firm focused on the hospitality industry. Throughout his illustrious 35-year career, he has served as President of Amphitheaters and President of Onsite Products for Live Nation Entertainment, Vice President of Development for Harrah’s Entertainment, and various senior leadership roles with Marriott International, The Walt Disney Company and Universal Studios.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Yost graduated from Dickinson College with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

In addition to his work in the industry, Mr. Yost is passionate about sustainability, serving on the board of a reusable foodservice wares manufacturer and speaking at various industry conferences. The LVCVA is charged with marketing Southern Nevada as a tourism and convention destination worldwide and with operating the 4.6 million-square-foot Las Vegas Convention Center. With more than 150,000 hotel rooms and 15 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space in Las Vegas alone, the LVCVA's mission centers on attracting leisure and business visitors to the area. The LVCVA also owns the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, an underground tunnel designed by The Boring Company and the Las Vegas Monorail, an elevated 3.9-mile system with seven stops throughout the resort corridor.
