Volunteer: MN Future Cities Competition

Calling all volunteers! Please consider helping out ASCE MN as we prepare for the 2026 Future Cities competition:

Day: Saturday, January 24, 2026

Overview: Special Award Judge opportunity

Location: Metro State University (St. Paul campus)

Time: 8:00 AM to noon

Looking for: Engineering volunteers are needed to be judges on competition day. Judges can be any engineer or engineering college student. No previous judging experience is needed. Volunteers are to check in at the Volunteer Check-in Table and attend the judges’ orientation session before competition day begins. Special Awards judges will interact with students at various Future City team tables and score Future City models according to the Special Award rubric. Judges will listen to 5-6 student teams give a 7-minute presentation, then ask the students follow-up questions about their city model. Judges will be in teams of two or three. Friends can request to judge as a team.

Coffee, treats, and lunch will be provided to judges. It’s fun and rewarding! Please sign up if you are interested in helping.
