Legal Webinar for Sections and Branches

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our 2018 Spring Webinar on “Legal Issues related to Section and Branch Operations” scheduled for April 3rd at 2pm EDT.

The speaker will be Tara Hoke, Esq., ASCE’s General Counsel. Topics will include:

  • What provisions should you look out for in a hotel contract? 
  • What are the rules for seeking corporate sponsors for meetings or other activities?
  • Can we invite a candidate for local office to speak at our meeting? 
  • Is our event covered under ASCE insurance, including alcohol liability?
  • What copyright laws pertain to internet images and graphics?

These are only a sample of the legal issues and questions you may face when acting as an ASCE officer, director, or other volunteer leader. The purpose of this webinar is to provide advice and recommendations from ASCE's legal counsel for addressing the most common legal issues for volunteer leaders in the nonprofit arena. The webinar will also feature a Q&A session, and participants will be invited to submit questions before and during the webinar.
