Connections, services and pressure testing

When:  Sep 17, 2024 from 02:00 PM to 03:15 PM (ET)

SPONSORED WEBINAR provided by the Alliance for PE PipeCore & Main , and WL Plastics

The third in a series of free HDPE webinars sponsored by the Alliance for PE Pipe this year will address the myriad of ways to connect smaller diameter services to HDPE pressure or gravity mains.

The HDPE industry has endeavored to develop many different types of connections to HDPE large and small diameters to provide many options to match the municipal water and wastewater markets. How to perform a pressure test in the field will also be detailed and explained.

This webinar will include:

  • Examples of small and large diameter connections, including variation between options, and how to perform the connections in the field. Fully restrained large diameter connections will be discussed.
  • Various mechanisms for tapping HDPE pressure and gravity mains will be provided, including live tapping of pressure mains.
  • The process of how to safely perform pressure testing on HDPE pressure mains will be discussed, including the difference between design and operating pressures and the viscoelastic behavior of HDPE.
