Recently, biopolymer stabilizer has attracted more attention due to their sustainability and stabilization properties. Several experiments have been carried out in the previous studies to evaluate the mechanical strength of biopolymer binder. Nevertheless, the susceptibility of biopolymer stabilizers to moisture has been a significant drawback of this novel practice. Although, the application of hydrophobic-based biopolymer which was recently developed shows a better performance compared to the hydrophilic. Still, the significant strength reduction of biopolymer when saturated is a major challenge.
