    Posted 04-10-2020 11:07 AM

HydroLearn, an NSF-sponsored project, is pleased to invite hydrology and water resources instructors to participate in a HydroLearn Virtual Hackathon & Workshop to be held during June 22-July 2, 2020. Fellowships will be awarded to support participants. The workshop is being held virtually due to the recent developments related to COVID-19. Following a "hackathon" approach, the workshop will bring together hydrology and water resources instructors to collaborate remotely and co-create online learning resources that can serve the larger community. The resulting learning resources will support the increased focus on online teaching, given the current COVID-19 situation, but should also serve the transition back to in-class learning by harnessing ongoing efforts to develop effective digital teaching resources.

Participants will use the HydroLearn online platform (www.hydrolearn.org) to collaboratively develop and share new course material. The workshop will include training on the development of content for HydroLearn and the research-based pedagogical approaches it uses, followed by collaborative work in small groups (2 to 3) on module development with the goal to complete the development of modules that each fellow could use in their own teaching at their home institution. The workshop will consist of daily synchronous check-in sessions with the HydroLearn team, with the majority of the time used by the fellows to co-develop the modules. Fellows will also participate in pre- and post-workshop meetings to support the creation, revision, and implementation of the modules.

    Deadline for Application:

Applications are due by May 8, 2020. Decisions will be made by June 1, 2020.

    Stipends:

Fellows will receive a stipend of $3,000 for their participation in the Workshop and developing the collaborative modules.
