Recent campus closures in response to COVID-19 are forcing many of us to rapidly adjust courses so that content can be delivered online. The ASCE EWRI Student and Education Councils recognize that there is interest in discussing the best approaches for making the transition.  We have set up two ways to facilitate conversations on the issues.  Please note that students and faculty are invited to participate.

    • Informal MS Teams Meet-ups (Fridays, March 27, April 4, April 11, and May 1, 2:00 pm EDT/11:00 am PDT):  Please join an informal MS Teams-based conversation (link below) about the transition to online delivery. There is no agenda for the first meeting, but we suspect that many of you will have ideas to share regarding achievement of water- and environment-related course outcomes in online courses.  Our Teams account can handle as many as 250 participants, so please share with anyone who may be interested.  If there is a lot of participation, we plan on breaking the meeting up into small groups to facilitate person-to-person discussions.  The link to the meeting is here:

    • Online Discussion Forum: We have set up a Water Resources Educators Forum at the ASCE collaborate website (https://collaborate.asce.org/communities/community-home?CommunityKey=9546890c-b4d6-4508-8d49-e67f262af410).  We hope this facilitates online conversations about these issues.  Please use the site to post resources that you would like to share with the community.  We will also use the site to post more details regarding future Teams meet-ups.  The site is a work in progress, but we think it can serve as a useful way to share ideas and experiences.

Feel free to let us know if you have ideas about other ways we can share information.  While our committees are small and volunteer-led, we will do what we can support the transition.
