Only the top 4 rows of Table 2 in the Excel logging template require a "receipt". Light rail transit is not considered a commercial mode of transportation in this competition (see Row#21 in this same table). The 4 commercial modes listed are considered
commercial only in that you need to reserve a spot, select a date for your reservation and purchase that ticket for entry on the day of travel. For clarity, these 4 modes are:
Commercial Airline (Delta, United, etc.)
Commercial Long-haul Bus (Greyhound, etc.)
Commercial Train (high-speed rail)
Commercial Ship (Norwegian, Holland, etc.)
Light rail transit is
not considered a commercial mode of transportation for this competition. They operate on a fixed schedule regardless of ridership, and passengers can access with little to no advanced planning. This form of transportation can be found in Row#21 of Table 2 and does not require a receipt.
transit - train (rail and/or light rail .... such as BART, MARTA, MAX, Metro, etc.)
