Hey all. It looks to me like there has been exactly zero activity in this committee/forum in ASCE Collaborate. I've always kind of bemoaned the fact that there was so little activity in the actual Blue Ridge Section, as compared to the greater Virginia Section, and especially my prior section of Maryland (due to my employer's location). Obviously COVID puts a real damper on meetups and get-togethers, but that doesn't mean we can't have conversation, virtual happy hours, or potentially outdoor activities with appropriate distance and PPE.
About me:
I'm up in Highland County near Monterey. I have been working from home for 6+ years now for the Center for Watershed Protection do largely stormwater quality work including retrofitting, stream assessment and stabilization, and some of the watershed planning and education that goes along with it. I'm looking to get a bit more local and a bit more personal with my work, and get into site, water, wastewater, and agricultural work in the Appalachian range. I'm also one of the directors of the Mountain Soil and Water Conservation District serving Highland, Bath, and Allegheny counties, and Covington. And I've recently formed my own company and am working toward establishing a private practice.
