    2026 ASCE UESI Surveying Society-wide Competition RFI#2

    1. Final Project Narrative: The Scenario - "All designs shall comply with the applicable Zoning Ordinances and Subdivision Regulations available through the Cerberus Website." When will these codes be available?

    The Zoning information is available on Cerberus. This set of information should provide direction on the project subdivision.

    1. Final Project Narrative: 2. Site Plan and Rough Grading Plan, Minimum Requirements - "7. Landscaping, lot coverage, and FAR calculations." What are FAR calculations, could we get more elaboration on this requirement?

    FAR = Floor Area Ratio

    1. Final Project Narrative: 2. Site Plan and Rough Grading Plan, Design Evaluation - "A final project rubric containing all of the project requirements and a sample project will be available to teams on Cerebus by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on May 20, 2026." It is currently 10:20 PM Eastern Time on May 20, 2026. When will these be available?

    These are currently available.

    1. Are we required to have 1 parking space per 500 square feet for all sites? Or just for the one we are putting together development plans for?

    You are only creating a site plan for one of the four lots created.

    1. Are we to use the development standards of Vandalia, OH?

    Yes. If there are any discrepancies between the Vandalia requirements and those given with this project, the requirements given with this project will override the Vandalia requirements.

    1. The rubric states that plat should have contours and topography labeled. This is not mentioned in the narrative. Which one is correct?

    Refer to proper methods for creating topographic maps, grading, and site plans.

    1. Section 2.2- in a recent email from Jen Umpmeyer, she stated that each team consists of 5 team members, however the official rules state that each team is 6. Please clarify how many team members for the field task component of the competition.

    Team should have 6 members maximum.

    1. Please clarify that 250 car parking spots is sufficient for our detailed lot design even though it conflicts with the 1 spot per 500 SF ratio provided in the project narrative. If following the ratio for a 400,000 SF building, that would be 800 parking spots.

    Your statement is correct, 250 passenger parking spaces are the minimum. Actual parking spaces will be based on teams' specific design.

    1. The answer to RFI #19 is unclear. Please clarify if the other 3 lots must have buildings ranging in size from 400,000-500,000 SF, or if 125,000 SF is suitable since it follows the ratio of 250 parking spots at 500 SF per spot.

    The minimum parking is 250 spots, team will design parking based on their building square footage. For a building of 400,000 SF, it will require more parking spaces per specification.
