Do you have an outstanding colleague or project you were a part of that deserves recognition? I am excited to announce that nominations are now being accepted for LVASCE's annual awards--Engineer of the Year, Young Engineer of the Year, and Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement of the Year! The nomination process is straightforward, so we hope you all will consider nominating a fellow colleague or project for some well-deserved recognition. See below for further details!

LVASCE members who were 35 years or younger on December 31, 2025 are eligible to be nominated for Young Civil Engineer of the Year. The age restriction is removed for nominees for Civil Engineer of the Year. In both cases, criteria for the award include the nominee's occupational and professional achievements, commitment to the profession and to the education of younger engineers, and active citizenship, with particular consideration given to activity and achievements during 2025. Complete information is provided in the nomination forms, available on the LVASCE website. All LVASCE members are invited to submit nominations.

Nominations for Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement of the Year can be made by any LVASCE member to recognize a project located within the boundaries of the Lehigh Valley Section, and substantially completed in 2025. The award criteria include superlative application of engineering principals, and the project's contribution to the civil engineering profession and to the larger community. Because this award recognizes the project and not an individual engineer, it is made to the entire project team, which may include universities, architects, engineers, owners, contractors, etc.; and generally, the owner of the project accepts the award on behalf of the project team.

Please consider submitting a nomination! These awards are a terrific way to recognize exemplary talent and projects, and also shine a light on the exceptional companies and institutions that make these successes possible. Our thanks in advance to every nominator!
