Ravish:
OVERALL FIRST IMPRESSION -- I would hire you to work on our Land Port of Entry Projects!! Our Agency has many Northern Sites!! It seems that field activity in lieu of office actively is your vision.
KANGARO --
"Projects Completed" is shown in bold font. This seems to be a distraction from the logical flow and theme of your resume. Perhaps realign your thoughts to be a little more consistent?!
Please be "more specific" with reference to collaboration. For Example -- Follow-Up?? Estimate?? Negotiate?? Validate?? Verify??
What was the extent of your analysis? What was the task order magnitude? Were any assignments completed under tight time lines and / or under emergency response action? Did you report directly to the Chief Officer?
What specific tasks involved scheduling? Critical Path?? Look-Ahead?? Schedule of Values??
Please name the "Clients" and / or get those references!! Simply being vague will disable reviewer faith in your credentials.
What kind of documenting was conducted on your behalf? Did you write QA / QC reports??
What involvement did you have around meetings? Did you establish the Agenda?? Did you monitor and follow-through on the action items with a direct report to the Chief Officer??
Talk about supply chain. For Example -- Ordering of Material.
No abbreviations!! For Example -- "BOQ" should be spelled out.
SR CONSTRUCTION --
What kind of reports?? Engineering?? Financial??
QA / QC was conducted around what specific code / standard?? ASTM?? ISO 9000?? Safety Standard??
PUBLIC WORKS --
Please be specific with reference to Administration Work Activity. For Example -- Accounting??
Please specify material type(s) such as Steel, Concrete, Wood, Plastics and other. This will demonstrate your knowledge-base is beyond the average candidate. This will leverage your ability.
TECHNICAL SKILLS -- Please provide the member number in lieu of "member." This will enable the reviewer to witness that membership is active and / or current. For Example -- You did NOT let them expire!!
LOGISTICS -- Please repeat your name, address, telephone number and e-mail on each page. Also, list the job announcement!!
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES -- Progressive Experience / Knowledge / Skill is shown. I recommend expanding upon BIG CONSTRUCTION ($10M, $100M...?), TEAMS (Diverse?? Size??), TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING (IE Pavement Management, Security, Scheduling, Traffic), RISK MANAGEMENT (Talk about Type IE Monte Carlo, Probability, Strategic), SCHEDULING (IE Time Lines -- Was this critical path analysis??), ESTIMATING (IE Take-Offs).
"PROOF READ" YOUR ENTIRE RESUME -- Spell out RCC!! Reinforced Concrete?? NO abbreviations and / slang language!! Check capitalization throughout your resume as it is inconsistent (do NOT capitalize to over emphasize), rather, consider utilization of consistent color font (blue tint in bold) at each major heading and sub-heading (red rust in bold). Check "Iden" and Identity (seems like a run-on sentence / incomplete thought). Check learnt (do you mean to say I learned??). Perhaps have a friend proof read each others and blend ideas?!
UNIQUE SKILLS -- Did you contribute in proposal negotiation? (IE enabling a successful award of contract). Do you have an EIT, PE, PMP?? The PMP actually has PMP-in-Training (check it out). Be certain to talk about your specific skills as these skills relate to the job announcement. For Example -- NOT everything on the resume!! However, threads of connectivity.
WORD TO THE WISE -- Please, NO LINKS such as your e-mail unless you are prepared to maintain ALL of the content. My thinking is that if the link does NOT open, then you lost the interview.
INDUSTRY REFERENCES -- Please list three professional references in lieu of "available upon request."
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT -- Are you able to relocate? Research the company of choice prior (your vision) to a formal job announcement. Network with their people and show an interest that could develop into an interview and job.
PROFILE STATEMENT -- This summarizes yourself (in brief) and talks about your vision. Typically, this statement follows the OBJECTIVE.
TO DO -- Rework your resume a little more before going to market and you will be fine. Good job!! Additionally, please "Post" a professional self-photograph on the Career by Design. This opens the door of collaboration for you.
SUGGESTED READING -- If you have time, then please read the following.
Writing Excellence by Lee Clark Johns (Pathway Excellence Series) Thomson Del Mar Learning 2006.
{ I had the opportunity to meet Lee. Lee inspired me!! }
Principle Centered Leadership by Stephen Covey (Franklin Covey Company) 1991.
{ Hopefully, this will leverage you vision. }
Wishing you and your family excellent health over the holidays!!
All the best,
David

Want to turn those job applications into job interviews? The ASCE Resume Workshop can help!
The workshop has two threads. This one is for public sector job resumes, with experts to answer your specific public sector questions. The other is for general resume review. Submit your resume here, in the general review thread, or both.
All submitted resumes will be reviewed by coaches and receive a response by November 15 in the thread it was posted in.
We are accepting resumes only - please do not post a CV. We also ask that you only submit in a PDF format.
Please note all resumes submitted will be reviewed before they are published on the thread. If you are interested in a specific public agency level (local, county/regional, state, or federal), please note that in your post.
*** You must be an ASCE Member for your resume to be reviewed.
