ASCE Region 2 Director’s Letter - February 2017
Dear Region 2 Members,
I hope each of you participated in 2017 Engineers Week events. Please see my perspectives, below.
The world release of ASCE’s Dream Big: Engineering Our World at the Smithsonian in Washington DC made for an exceptional Engineers Week! The DiscoverE foundation adopted Dream Big as the week's official theme. Region 2 Sections, Branches and Student Chapters also hosted Engineer’s week events, Some of the enthusiasm generated by the Engineer’s Week events is captured Engineers Week 2017>>
Key ASCE events and dates in March include:
- Release of America’s Infrastructure Report Card – March 9
- Fly-In – March 14
- OPAL – March 16
- Board of Direction Meeting – March 17
ASCE’s infrastructure report card is frequently mentioned by the Administration and Congress members. The release event will serve to increase these leaders’ attention on the need to find legislative solutions. I am proud to be associated with an organization that is viewed by all as a source of objective expertise. I hope to see you at the Fly-In or OPAL. My next Letter will summarize BOD meeting action.
