  • Fellowships for HydroLearn Virtual Watershed and Hackathon

HydroLearn, an NSF-sponsored project, is pleased to invite hydrology and water resources instructors to participate in the HydroLearn 2021 Virtual Workshop and hackathon to be held during July 12 - 16 & 19 – 21. The workshop is based on applying research-based pedagogical approaches to the collaborative development of active learning content for teaching hydrology and water resources courses.  Participants receive a $3,000 fellowship and are expected to work with other instructors to develop a HydroLearn module to use in their own teaching.  Participants will use the HydroLearn online platform (www.hydrolearn.org) to collaboratively develop and share new undergraduate and entry-level graduate course material.

Following a "hackathon" approach, the workshop will start with training on the development of content for HydroLearn and the research-based pedagogical approaches it uses, followed by collaborative work in small groups (2 to 3) on module development with the goal to complete the development of modules that each fellow could use in their own teaching at their home institution.
