The Department of Architecture at the University of Hartford is looking for an instructor to teach ADT 474 - Design of Steel Structures for Technology this Fall semester (In-person). Class time Mon/Wed 6 pm – 8:50 pm, began on August 26th and ends on December 11th. Structural design of tension members and beams is discussed. Analysis and design of columns, including slenderness effects, are studied. Members under combined forces also are discussed. Member stability and structural stability issues are investigated using effective length factors. Design of bolted, riveted and, welded connections is studied. General details of steel buildings are discussed. Laboratory includes design sections as well as experiments with steel components.
