  • Evento "Poromechanics of Shale"

    Estimados miembros,

Adjunto información sobre un evento que pudiera ser de su interés.

Please find the information below about the upcoming ASCE Region 10 Distinguished Lecture: The Poromechanics of Shale. You can also find more information on the attached flyer.

When: May 21, 2024, 9:30-10:30 PM (Hong Kong Time)

Speaker: Professor Ronaldo I. Borja, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Stanford University, works in theoretical and computational geomechanics, geotechnical engineering, and geosciences.

About: The ASCE Region 10 Distinguished Lecture series invites outstanding international scholarships and industry practitioners who have made significant contributions to Civil Engineering to share their achievements with ASCE international members.

In this lecture, Professor Borja will explore the mechanical and hydraulic properties of the material shale that could have some important implications for hydrocarbon extraction and carbon sequestration. Of particular interest are the impacts of fluids in the pore spaces on the evolution of stiffness, strength, and fluid conductivity properties of this geological material.

Register by May 12, 2024:  Registration for ASCE Region 10 Distinguished Lecture (21/05/2024) (office.com) Once you have registered you will receive the Zoom link to join.
