  • Thursdays @ 3 - The New COVID-19 Legislative Landscape

With the volatility of the current COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on employees and the workplace, ASCE is organizing a series of virtual roundtables to help civil engineers during this difficult and uncertain time. We’ll bring together a panel of civil engineering leaders to share insights and answer questions on a variety of topics throughout May. Every Thursday at 3 p.m. EDT, ASCE will host a virtual roundtable on a new topic.

This roundtable will focus on how the current crisis has impacted the nation’s infrastructure and will provide an opportunity to learn what relief measures have been implemented and what relief measures are still necessary. Speakers will share how state departments of transportation and local water utilities are coping with the new fiscal realities and discuss what Congressional action is needed to help agencies through the immediate crisis.

    Panelists:

    • Brandye Hendrickson, Deputy Director, AASHTO
    • ASCE At-Large Director Roger Millar, P.E., F.ASCE, Secretary of Transportation, State of Washington
    • ASCE Region 5 Governor Rebecca Shelton, P.E., F.ASCE, Deputy Director, Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources
    • Kristina Surfus, Managing Director, Government Affairs, National Association of Clean Water Agencies
