In an increasingly interconnected world, the infrastructure challenges we face, from climate resilience to the safety of high-risk buildings do not stop at national borders. Neither should the expertise of the engineers who solve them.
On May 11, 2026, the ASCE UK Section is hosting a landmark webinar to explore the future of transatlantic practice: The NCEES - Engineering Council Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA).
The 2026 Pivot
2026 marks a transformative year for the MRA. With several major U.S. state boards reaching "Ready" status, the path for a UK Chartered Engineer (CEng) to gain recognition in the U.S.and for a U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) to practice in the UK has never been clearer.
However, navigating the requirements of the International Professional Engineer (IntPE) standard and the specific nuances of state licensure requires a clear roadmap.
