BRIAN J. VAN WEELE, P.E., D. WRE
Brian Van Weele is a Senior Vice President, Principal Project Manager and Senior Professional Associate for Parsons Brinckerhoff. A prominent expert in the water field, Mr. Van Weele has had numerous successes directing complex projects within tight timeframes, including wastewater interception and diversion tunnel systems; outfall structures; hydroelectric power facilities; water pollution control studies; and water supply and distribution systems. His credits include directing the massive $4 billion Deep Tunnel Sewerage System in Singapore; managing the fast-tracked Govalle Wastewater Interceptor and Diversion System in Austin, Texas, bringing the 8-mile-long tunnel from notice-to-proceed to system operation within 2 years; and sitting on numerous technical review committees for projects proposed and underway worldwide. The federally mandated tight schedules for the 9.4-mile-long Boston Harbor Effluent Outfall Tunnel—one of the world's longest and largest-diameter outfalls—and San Francisco's 4.5-mile-long Southwest Ocean Outfall Project were also met under Mr. Van Weele's direction.
