I am a civil engineer with specialty on water resources engineering. I studied civil engineering in college and over the years worked with various organizations on different aspects of civil engineering. I went back to school again and completed my MS degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University (USU) in Dec of 2011. I have taken the FE exam and thus I have the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from NCEES.
I have worked for a small engineering consulting firm in Utah on various aspects of the water engineering business. My experience working with the consulting firm has allowed me to assist senior engineers in their major water projects by running models such as HEC-HMS, WaterCAD and SewerCAD, analyzing hydrologic data in Excel, designing pump station, establishing and analyzing alternative conveyance alignments for pipes and channels, preparing storm discharge permitting documents and many more. I understand the value of working in a team effectively to achieve project goals.
Prior to that I was working as an international United Nations Volunteer Engineering Assistant in the Sudan.
I am a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) where I continuously stay in touch with the developments and vision of the industry. I regularly attend conferences and seminars ,such as the American Water Resources Association, in my areas of specialty.
I am open for challenging and rewarding career opportunities in the civil & environmental engineering field.
Moving forward,
• I would like to continue to learn and apply software packages that help to model and understand the processes in watersheds/river basins.
• I would like to spend more time designing structures, facilities, systems etc. that solve problems based on sound model analysis and planning.
