Mel Butcher recently joined Carollo's Private Sector Group and is currently based out of the Madison, Wisconsin office. Mel has a varied background that includes experience with Federal Emergency Management and Engineering Consulting. In previous consulting roles, Mel has focused on water/wastewater treatment, management, risk, and sustainability for industrial (private sector) clients. She holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering and a BA in Language.Mel is actively involved in WEF and ASCE. She completed WEF's Water Leadership Institute in 2017. Currently, Mel is working with ASCE on an article series that explores Design Thinking, and the series will be published (print and electronic) soon, so be on the look out!In her spare time, Mel facilitates an online career support group for women in male-dominated fields called CollabSuite. In addition, as a partner of the Empowering Women in Industry organization, Mel hosts and produces the Empowering Women Podcast (available on iTunes, Spotify, and Stitcher). The aim of the podcast is to feature women leaders in male-dominated fields, and to share their wisdom and advice for the benefit of other women; season 2 just recently launched.
