Alexa specializes in modeling flood risk reduction projects and working with FEMA to revise the floodplain with Letters of Map Change (LOMCs). She is a Certified Floodplain Manager and well-versed in FEMA floodplain requirements with experience ranging from individual homes to multi-billion dollar projects. Her work on projects like the Ada, MN Flood Control Project and the Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion Project has included analyzing unique solutions for complex flooding issues using levees, diversion channels, and culvert systems. She is involved with multiple local organizations and passionate about promoting diversity in STEM. In 2018 she was chosen as one of ten New Faces of Civil Engineering by the American Society of Civil Engineers in recognition of her leadership, community service, and work in the engineering industry.
