My name is Wilson Chafla and I am a Civil Engineering graduate student at NYU Tandon. I am currently a College Aide at NYC DOT where I have experience performing field surveys and designing street regrading. I would describe my time at DOT as an absolute blessing, not only have I had the opportunity to work throughout the pandemic but have also been able to witness the completion of projects from beginning to end. I decided to continue my with my studies to reinforce my design knowledge and actively pursue my passion for safe and serviceable structures encompassing the structural engineering field. As a first generation Latinx immigrant, I believe that my passion in learning and growing as a person will help me in my journey of becoming a well-rounded engineer.
