Naoki Weldon, born and raised in Southern California, has aspired to be a creator, a builder, and now a civil engineer. Growing up, he would spend hours building lego creations, wondering how high, how big, how impressive something could be. Throughout adolescence, he learned to see values in others, value in the environment, and value in working as a team. Inevitably, Naoki explored his options as an engineer in high school, designing and building a functioning model catapult, testing balsa wood bridges to failure, and even gaining an engineering scholarship. Civil engineering was what piqued his interests the most, and so he decided to pursue it as a career. Naoki is now a second year civil engineering major at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo.
