Hello! I am Khadijah Blagmon from Coatesville, Pa. I am currently studying Engineering Science- Civil at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. If I am not a school, I am either tutoring high schoolers (mathematics), mentoring elementary school students, or working one of my three jobs (food service worker, resident safety representative, or customer service representative). In addition, I am part of the praise and worship team and head of the youth department at church.
Professionally, I would like to become a senior project manager or start my own engineering consultant firm. I have been interested in the engineering field for as long as I can remember. I did not necessarily call it an interest at first, originally I called it, " Dad, this bridge is going to fall with me on it". But as I have learned more, I have grown a deep appreciation for civil engineering and less scared of course.
Generally, I have a true passion for people development. I want everyone around me to be able to reach their goals and check off things on their daily list. I want them to be able to always say that “no matter what happens, I put my best work out there”. I love seeing and helping people develop and grow and succeed past what they imagined for themselves.
I value hard work and always doing my best. I never want to be associated with mediocrity or half-done jobs. I find that I am on a relentless pursuit of excellence and will accept nothing less. Getting things done and accomplishing tasks is my main motivation. One of the greatest feelings for me is being able to sleep at night knowing that everything that was required of me was completed and to the best of my ability.
