Civil engineers who shared their experience and advice in "Explore Engineering Careers in Construction" responded to a couple questions we did not get to during the live roundtable discussion.
Today's question: What is the average salary of construction engineers?(Answer is based on individual experiences)
Daniel R. Cook, P.E., S.E., P.Eng., M.ASCE, CI President, Senior Project Manager, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger:As with civil engineers, salaries for construction engineers can vary widely depending on company, geographic location, and level of responsibility and experience. You may find that salaries for construction companies are higher than those for private consulting firms, but that will also often come with increased time commitments, especially when you are in the midst of a construction project. We recommend that you look at the ASCE Civil Engineering Salary Survey for more information. Student members receive the benefit of free access to the entry-level salary data by region.
