I would say seawater intrusion is a natural phenomenon but it is usually aggravated by human activities such as over-pumping of groundwater from coastal aquifers for irrigation purposes etc. I worked on the assessment of seawater intrusion in one of the coastal cities of East Africa at Master's level. ...
