    Colleagues,

    In large-diameter urban transmission systems, pipeline failures can result in significant service disruption, infrastructure damage, and high restoration costs.

    From an operational perspective, integrating risk-based assessment (Probability of Failure × Consequence of Failure) with preventive maintenance planning has proven effective in improving system reliability and reducing emergency response incidents.

    I would be interested to learn how utilities in different regions are implementing:

    • AI-driven predictive analytics
    • Real-time pressure and flow monitoring
    • Failure history modeling
    • Digital shutdown and isolation planning tools

    to enhance resilience and optimize asset lifecycle management.

    I look forward to insights, research references, and practical case studies from global professionals.

    From pipe line flow if water enter from large pipe to smaller, a back pressure may cause bursting out. Volume decrease while a velocity increase for equilibrium but a back pressure develop .
