  • 1.  Loss of energy and bend rebars

    Posted 4 days ago

This is the theory of negative energy. When steel bars for bending it's energy is lost due to load application of bending. The ability to take loads would be lose. Zero energy may cause collapse of the entire structure. Consider the round beam of which bars are bend circular for a round building, which is like wise the pizza of Italy , it's known to Architecture history. Beam rest on circular beam is again dangerous for its notorious tilted nature .

It would be helpful to me if you could provide a visual description of the point you are making.

Energy is applied for bending the bar it may crack so it's load carrying capacity is reduce. Crank may avoid using two layers of rebars

Apparently this discussion is not about strength loss of the rebars due to cold deformation but may concern torsional shear in curved beams -- or (as the reference to neutral equilibrium seems to indicate) is it about low safety against tilting of structures supported by curved beam? I agree that the failure scenario addressed is unclear.

Kinetic energy while bending is lost since total energy is constant it's being the potential energy. Now it's clear I think
