SE Licensure for a simple house addition? Well the whole purpose of the IRC, International Residential Code is that any lay person, contractor of homowner can design their own house or addition without any engineer whatsoever. Most SIPS panels have integrated joists at 24" o.c. So why would it be different than a traditional diaphragm design, yes I know the short side is not getting attachment. Also you can count on the "ceiling" diaphragm with the OSB on the bottom. John Stensgaard, PE ------------------------------ ...

Shipping containers seen to be a good idea to some. However to meet building code requirements, insulation you generally have to build walls inside, and a ceiling for insulation electrical run etc. Also you need a proper foundation.
