Mr. Rice has a progressive and diverse engineering background in:
Mining: Design of tailings impoundments and heap leach facilities, project management, hydrology, water balance, stability, settlement, hydraulics, pumping, piping, and geotechnical engineering and analysis. Mr. Rice has also participated in Construction Quality Assurance as lead engineer and project manager of construction activities.
Pipelines: Extensive design experience using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) including profile design, site layout, temporary disturbance layout, subsurface investigation, and design calculations. Mr. Rice has traveled across most states in the US monitoring contractors installing both steel and HDPE pipelines for quality assurance.
Land Development: From conception to permitting Mr. Rice has been involved in most aspects pertaining to site development. Mr. Rice has designed both residential sub-divisions and commercial properties.
In addition, Mr. Rice is involved with the local chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Truckee Meadows Branch (TMB). In his capacity as a board member, Mr. Rice helps provide support and scholarships to engineering students. He also provides input on local events and functions of the chapter to ensure members stay connected and provide value to ASCE-TMB members.
