My professional career has been as a public sector civil engineer in water resources, with major experience in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of large diameter water pipelines, flood protection systems, dams and their appurtenances, and pump stations and water treatment plants. A portion of my career involved leading the provision of civil engineering support to the operations and maintenance staff at Valley Water. My last position as a full-time civil engineer was managing dam safety for Valley Water. My last employment as a civil engineer was working as a part time contract employee for Valley Water leading their responsibilities for two major pipeline relocations for the BART extension to San Jose.
I am semi-retired now, although I am open to short term employment on interesting projects.
I occasionally write about civil engineering and water resources issues at my blog,
