I am a professional engineer with a BS in Civil engineering and a masters in Engineering management, with 38 years experience. I retired from a municipality six years ago, have worked as a consultant, specializing in project and construction management and now am associated with George Butler Associates. My early years were with a natural gas transmission company and for the last 28 years, I have been in the public sector with a local municipality. I have years of experience in project management of roadway, bridge, sewer, storm water, water line design and construction as a Director of Engineering. I have over a decade of experience as a Director of Construction Management overseeing construction of the roadway network in one of the fastest growing parts of the United states. I have, also, bridge construction experience, right of way acquisition, and design oversight. In the last five years, I have overseen two major levee projects in the Mississippi River floodplain, totaling almost $40,000,000. I have coordinated the development of these areas and the design and construction of a large park area that will incorporate the levee, floodways, water, sewer, storm water, lake, new structures, roads, and R/V park and wetland preservation. I also have coordinated the construction of a $17 million police facility and a street enhancement project.
