Dear Partha, Lane lines define only lane widths. Nothing to do with vehicle widths. Dear Partha, In Canada, lane width is 3.5 m as well. Shoulder width is extra. In my shipping experience, vehicle width is 2.4m (soft conversion from the previous 8 ft. width).
