    Dear Friends!
I would like to draw in your notice that I am going to start research in Transportaion System. I need topics or ideas from my research. Kindly suggest me good ideas. Your idea means a lot for me. Thanks.

    Muhammed,

With the rapid changes in types of transportation, there are a variety of interesting areas that have not been researched yet.  Depending on your own personal interest, a few of the topics that might be fascinating in Peshawar . .

    1. Rail system advances in this century  (electrification of locomotives?, higher speed systems? positive train control systems to prevent collisions)

    2. Resiliency for track and roadways in an era of greater storms / floods / climate impacts

    3. moving goods time frames during global pandemic . . impacts to ports

Since you are a builder, what are the biggest challenges you face when building?  If you can research something that will help you solve a commercial problem as well as meet your research objectives, the real life problems are always the best.   Good Luck to you Mr. Khan

    Hi Muhammad Azam Khan,

In Arizona there's a project started by Bill Gates who is creating a smart city and there's some mention of autonomous vehicles interacting with the city although there's not much detail shared about it's making. The project is located in Phoenix, Arizona.

There's also interesting topic that covers Intelligent Transportation Systems, also known as ITS. Some global companies have been a pioneer in these developments. Most of it has been about connected autonomous vehicles such as passenger vehicle's and trucks, self-driving cars like Tesla and Google's Waymo. I thought it would be pretty interesting to see some collaboration between Uber, Lyft, or taxi companies to interface with self-driving vehicles.

Most of this would on the traffic side of transportation engineering but there's some issues with legislation and security risks, not to mention, the question of who takes liability for vehicle accidents and things of that nature.
