As a proud Jamaican civil engineer, I am passionate about the transformative power of engineering to create sustainable and resilient communities. My journey into civil engineering began with a childhood fascination for the construction industry, initially aspiring to become an architect. Life’s path led me to earn a Diploma in Structural Engineering, which sparked my love for the field and opened doors to a fulfilling career.
During my early experiences, including a pivotal internship at Rural Water Supply, I honed my skills in precise engineering computations and water tank designs. These formative opportunities reinforced my commitment to structural engineering. However, my outlook broadened when I discovered the intersection of structural and environmental engineering. Watching Breakthrough (Season 1, Episode 6), a documentary on the global freshwater crisis, ignited my passion for addressing environmental challenges through innovative engineering solutions.
Today, I specialize in Structural and Environmental Engineering, blending technical expertise with a commitment to sustainability. From conducting Environmental Impact Assessments to designing innovative wastewater treatment systems, my work reflects a dedication to advancing environmentally conscious and community-focused engineering practices.
As an Affiliate Member of ASCE, I am eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals to drive innovation and tackle the pressing challenges of our time. Whether through advancing sustainable design or mentoring the next generation of engineers, I aim to leave a positive and lasting impact on the world.
Let’s connect and work together to engineer a better, more sustainable future!
